Core Functions
To be responsible for the team in preventive/corrective maintenance activities, restoring supply of power and the analysis of such defaults.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
1. Leads a team of expert Maintenance Engineers and allocates duties to them.
2. Ensure quick restoration of supply in case of loss of supply to sensitive consumers, and oversees the repairing works of substation equipment with all concerned.
3. Guides the Engineers both in the field as well as in control for quick restoration of supply in case of system breakdown.
4. Confirm the priorities for the preventive maintenance of the switchgears and Replacement.
5. Prepares the operational memorandum with the introduction of new equipments and changed situation. Technical guide lines procedure cod of practices.
6. Arrange and Share the preparation of tender documents with all concerned.
7. Supervise the execution of the annual and weekly preventive and corrective maintenance plans
8. Studies and analyses faults and weakness of the system and take remedial actions.
9. Confirm and manage the maintenance contracts and monitors both quality as well as quantity.
10. Identifies the weaknesses of the system from the operational and maintenance point of view and forwards suggestions/recommendations to the concerned for remedy actions and direction of maintenance engineers for the most effective solutions of the system problems.
11. Share preparation of the technical Evaluation of the new maintenance contracts with other concerned staff.
12. Share preparation of the technical Evaluation of the required materials either new or existing also ensures with other concerned the availability of maintenance equipment and materials.
13. Shares experiences with the other related Sections/Departments for introduction of the latest technology in the field of Electricity Distribution.
14. Coordinate with other sections to execute maintenance plan in high quality manners, confirm quality of work and updating all records by all concerned staff.
15. Controlling of substation maintenance materials.
16. Follows up Repairing of Substation faults in the 11KV/415V network from reporting to restoration of supply.
17. Attend to test engineers for Senior Authorization.
18. Attend interview to recruit new engineers.
19. Attend weekly meeting with senior engineers of system control, protection & construction to discuss the system problems & take / suggest remedial action.
20. Performs other related duties as needed upon request by the immediate supervisor.

Supervises a team of maintenance engineers and technicians
Qualification Requirements: (Minimum Requirements)
Education & Training (e.g. BS in Electrical Engineering, post-secondary secretarial training, etc) :
B Sc in Electrical Engineering (Power)
Job Experience (e.g.: 5-year experience in the relevant field of work)
At least 10 years experience in the construction of Distribution Networks
Nature of Supervision Received
(e.g. very close where supervision and instructions are continually provided in every step of the work/process and the outcome of the work is inspected/reviewed; or work is reviewed in conformance to established guidelines/procedures; or, operates under broad policy guidelines; etc.)

75% office and A/C environment & 25% out side.

• Good knowledge of Distribution Planning and manpower management
• Good in the speaking, reading and writing of English
• The ability to pin point work priorities.
• Ability to organize works during emergency cases or faults.
