Core Functions
- Responsible to supervision design, and review the maintenance plan of preventative, and corrective maintenance and condition monitoring of electrical distribution substation equipment, cables & overhead lines.
- Responsible to supervise of maintenance plan execution, and sorting out any difficulties with other concerned.
- Study and analyze of system performance, and suggest for improvements with concerned sections, and departments.
- Participate with concerned for materials technical evaluation, updating of specifications and inspection.
- Study the technical reports of condition monitoring, inspection reports and assign priorities for the remedial actions when required, and following up work progress of maintenance planning and condition monitoring engineers.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
1. Oversees of programming of maintenance and monitoring plan of the substations, overhead lines, assign priorities and following up execution progress.
2. Assign with head of section the main outlines of maintenance and monitoring plan to utilize the maximum available resources.
3. Oversees the distribution system data base updating, and other related maintenance plan schedule software.
4. Studies and analyzes faults in distribution network and arranging with all concerned for remedial action.
5. Arrange planned outage with the important and VIP consumers/arrange meeting when required with concerned.
6. Study requirements of major materials for maintenance work and arrange with all concerned to spare them.
7. Senior Coordination with other sections/departments as planning, D&D, civil, DCC, etc. regarding confirmation of the execution of the maintenance plan and the improvement of system.
8. Prepare/revise BOQ of the maintenance contracts for substations, & overhead lines as & when necessary for new contracts for best utilization of each contract and maintenance resources. With all concerned.
9. Review the code of practice of over head lines and substations, when required with other concerned units/sections/dept., confirming meeting the international standards recommendations.
10. Attend site visit with other concerned staff to the electrical distribution substations and OHL circuits to confirm, and assign the maintenance work requirements, when required and necessary.
11. Senior Coordination with all concerned, regarding the proposed schemes to avoid interference with the maintenance plan.
12. Review the technical reports {weekly, monthly, and annual} which indicate the actual maintenance work with the planned work.
13. Review and assign maintenance planning & condition monitoring KPI’s to confirm the achievement of section engineers.
14. Review and approve the weekly maintenance program, with full utilization of all available maintenance resources.
15. Study the abnormalities of distribution system with all concerned and suggest the appropriate actions.
16. Study the most recent new technology, ideas, and materials for equipment and system performance and monitoring improvements.
17. Participate to review materials specification and maintenance code of practice.
18. Attend the technical Evaluation of the required materials either new or existing also ensure with other concerned the availability of maintenance equipment and materials. Based on history of materials and international standards.
19. Investigation of failed equipment to pinpoint the actual reasons of the failures, and reporting.
20. Investigation and inspection of the major materials to confirm KM standards and specification, and its healthy performance.
21. Coordination with DCC for required outage for testing/monitoring purposes and for safety documents issues. When required.
22. Oversees and following up, of condition monitoring teams {outsource/in-house}.
23. Arrange any required condition monitoring contracts as scope work, BOQ, ETC., and progress following up.
24. Carry out site visit when required to sort out any technical site problems facing section staff.
25. Performs other related duties as needed upon request by the immediate supervisor

Qualification Requirements: (Minimum Requirements)
Education & Training (e.g. BS in Electrical Engineering, post-secondary secretarial training, etc) :
B Sc in Electrical Engineering (Power)
Job Experience (e.g.: 5-year experience in the relevant field of work)
At least 12 years experience in the construction, maintenance, maintenance planning, and condition monitoring for Distribution Networks.
Nature of Supervision Received
(e.g. very close where supervision and instructions are continually provided in every step of the work/process and the outcome of the work is inspected/reviewed; or work is reviewed in conformance to established guidelines/procedures; or, operates under broad policy guidelines; etc.)

• Good knowledge of Distribution Planning and manpower management.
• Fluent in the speaking, reading and writing of English.
• Computer skills for using the technical soft wares, and basic computer programs.
• The ability to give work priorities.
• Good knowledge in project management software such as primavera planning & programming, MS projects, JDE Edward, Pb views etc.
• Good knowledge in drafting technical letters & reports.
• Aware of Maintenance code of practices.
• Leadership abilities.
• Good communications and initiative skills.
• Forecasting visions and studies on ever improving technologies.
• Additional Transportation and mobile phone allowances
• Senior Authorization of HV switching operation and safety rules and precautions.
• Good knowledge of electrical equipment specifications, operations, monitoring.
