Senior Distribution Planning Engineer

Core Functions
Supervise all Planning work such as permit issues, service connections and scheme designs for new developments and reinforcement.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

1. Oversee all incoming and outgoing letters and internal memorandum’s in connection with BP’s, IDM’s, land additions, Fuse blowing reports and determine priorities of each case and initiate action for timely reply.

2. Study land addition requests from land acquisition department of MMAA and make reply to each with specific comments.

3. Counter check the cost estimates prepared by each Planning Engineers and approves the same ensuring financial implications are in line with KM policy, prior to secure the approval of Head of Section and Manager as applicable for each case.

4. Co-ordinate with various departments within KM for implementation of schemes and clarify any specific queries.

5. Conduct periodical internal meeting with Planning Engineers and formulate proposals on the basis of collective in put towards achieving organizational objectives.

6. Supervise the processing of building permit approval and service notes.

7. Supervise scheme design like new developments, reinforcements.

8. Liaises, communicates and set up an interface with customers and consultants and provide relevant technical advice.

9. Provide necessary technical supports to Planning Engineers as and when needed.

10. Perform other related duties as needed upon request by the Head of section.

Supervisory Responsibility

The Distribution Engineers.

Qualification Requirements: (Minimum Requirements)
Education & Training (e.g. BS in Electrical Engineering, post-secondary secretarial training, etc) :

B Sc in Electrical Engineering (Power)

Job Experience (e.g.: 5-year experience in the relevant field of work)

5 years experience where of 3 years in the construction or Operation & Maintenance of Distribution Networks and 2 years in Distribution Planning.

Nature of Supervision Received
(e.g. very close where supervision and instructions are continually provided in every step of the work/process and the outcome of the work is inspected/reviewed; or work is reviewed in conformance to established guidelines/procedures; or, operates under broad policy guidelines; etc.)

Work is reviewed in conformance to established guidelines / procedures.

• Good knowledge of Distribution Planning and Construction
• Good in the speaking, reading and writing of English
• Ability to look for economical ways to execute work.
• Solving overloading problems- alternative S/S site + cable route .
• General logic sense
