General Information

The King Fahad Medical City Complex (KFMC)  is situated in the Sulemanian area of Riyadh, Saudi Arabia covering 50.50 hectares with easy access from all directions and includes 8 main Medical administrations:, The Main Hospital, The Children's Hospital, The Rehabilitation Hospital, The Women’s Specialized Hospital, The Neuroscience Center, Prince Salman Heart Center, Prince Sultan Hematology Oncology Center, and The Diabetes Center, making up a total of 1095 beds (1095 available, 900 commissioned, 200 under construction). It is expected that more than 60,000 in-house patients and more than 600,000  outpatients will be treated annually at KFMC.  

The complex also includes an ambulatory care building (under construction), an administration building, a services building, 3,000 staff housing units, and a community center including a mosque, shopping center, a school, a day care center and a recreational center.

The Main Hospital (459 Beds)
has the latest state of the art medical technology providing specialized treatment in all specialties and subspecialties including Internal Medicine, Surgical Specialties, Dentistry, and Critical Care Department.

In addition there are 30 fully equipped operating rooms and KFMC contains the largest number of Intensive Care beds in the region.

The Women’s Specialized Hospital (236 Beds)
Officially inaugurated and commissioned on October 26 th, 2003, the Women’s Specialized Hospital with its latest state of the art medical technology is a pioneer tertiary care center providing specialized medical care for women.

There is also an Outpatient Department with the Obstetrics & Gynecology departments which includes an IVF clinic.

The Children‘s Hospital (246 Beds)
Officially inaugurated and commissioned in early summer of 2003, the Children‘s Hospital with its latest state of the art medical technology is a pioneer tertiary Pediatric care center providing specialized medical care for children in every pediatric specialty and subspecialty

The Rehabilitation Hospital (154 Beds)
provides the latest state of the art medical rehabilitation technology; for acute  and tertiary care Rehabilitation cases.

It has the only Communications & Swallowing Disorders Department in the country.

The Physiotherapy Department is equiped with a Hydrotherapy pool, Whirlpools & Activity Room and Occupational Therapy Department

The Neuroscience Center (134 Beds)
provides the latest state of the art management for acute and chronic tertiary care neurological diseases based multidesiciplinary team approach management programs.

It consists of 8 departments including Neurosurgery, Neurology, Spine Surgery, Neurophysiology, Pediatric Neurology, psychiatry, Psychology and Neuro Critical Care unit.

It has the only intra-operative MRI and Navigation unit in the whole middle east.

The only Acute Stroke Unit in the region is located at KFMC consesting of 8 beds and an active 24/7 on call stroke team

7 bed acute spinal cord unit for acute injuries and post opeartive care of spinal cord patients.

A fully equiped 16 bed Epilepsy monitoring unit with telemonitoring.

A fully equiped Neurophysiology lab that is capable of running 16 studies simultaneously.
