Hospital - Dammam
Al-Mouwasat Hospital is considered the most modern hospital in the Eastern Province. This medical facility is equipped with the most up to date technology in the world. The carefully selected medical team are all holders of American and European qualifications or equivalent. The hospital
building is a unique architectural design with three entrances for the
convenience of patients and their visitors. Attached to it are the staff
dormitories, mosque, external pharmacy, shopping centre and flower boutique.
There is ample parking space for the vehicles of both patient and visitor.
The hospital is surrounded by landscape gardens with an outer fence providing
privacy from the nearby residential area There are separate entrances for both out-patients and visitors. These are adjacent to the parking area which leads directly to the elevators to transport them to the upper floors of the in-patient ward. The emergency room with its own entrance is separated from the out-patient department, thus enabling us to provide a fast medical service.
They occupy most of the ground floor and provide a complete health care service. The parking area is near the entrance and supported by private lobbies for men, women and children. Our reception area is computerised which saves time and effort in registering patients and obtaining medical records. The following specialities are contained in these departments:
The layout of the out-patient clinic facilitates an easy and direct connection with laboratories, radiology and physiotherapy departments. These departments are equipped with state of the art technology to facilitate an accurate and fast diagnosis. This department is also supported by units of E.C.G., E.E.G., heart exercise test, echocardiography, pulmonary function test unit and endoscopy unit. Our Dental section represents a complete separate unit at our out-patient clinics and includes its own private reception and patient waiting areas. It has five different clinics for medication, oral panoramic radiology and supported by a fully-equipped dental laboratory.
This department is located near the out-patient clinics on the ground floor and is connected to the laboratory and radiology departments to ensure a very fast medical service. The emergency room is design and equipped to deliver a complete medical service. In addition to the speciality clinics, the emergency room also contains a main lobby, observation and resuscitation rooms, obstetrics and gynaecology rooms and a trauma unit. This complete unit is thus able to receive emergency cases 24 hours a day. Our fully equipped ambulances are always available to respond to emergency calls.
This is distributed over five floors with each containing two wards meeting at a central nursing station. A computer and other modern technology provides a continuous link between the nursing station and the patients room. There is also a treatment room, physician's room, waiting area, prayer room, consulting room and a main elevator for patients and visitors. The kitchen is connected to the central kitchen by special elevators. The 250 beds are distributed to cover the following needs:
The first floor contains six operation theatres equipped with the most modern equipment for surgery, anaesthesia and monitoring during surgery. There are two recovery rooms connected to the operating theatres, one for men and the other for women. Each room contains six beds. Adjacent to the operating theatres there are delivery rooms, and intensive care unit and a neonatal intensive care unit. The in-patient beds are distributed as follows:
Premium Class: suite for one person with spacious lounges and very tastefully decorated. This suite is equipped with two bathrooms. Private Class: room for one person which is fully furnished and has one bathroom. Semi-private: a room shared by two persons who are separated by curtain to allow privacy. All rooms are provided with televisions, private telephone and direct communications with the main nursing station.
These departments occupy the whole basement floor. This contains the offices of administration, materials department, medical records department, the main kitchen, central sterilisation department, the main laundry, the internal pharmacy, the staff dining room and the medical library. The main medical warehouse is connected to the hospital to provide the necessary requirements. Attached
to the hospital is the facility engineering department. It is composed
of three floors including the medical section, the electrical power section
