Lead Maintenance Operations Engineer

Directs and controls the execution of all scheduled and unscheduled multi-discipline maintenance activities, including civil maintenance and Asset integrity related items, on the Corporation's North Field Alpha production facilities to meet Production targets within the approved annual maintenance budget and Department's objectives & targets

Directs and monitors the effective maintenance operations carried out at NFA offshore by all trades and ensure that all are in line with the Computerized Maintenance Management Systems. Ensures the availability of all plans, manpower and parts for the above maintenance activities that are to be undertaken offshore Proposes technically practicable changes to enhance system efficiency and operation.

Participates in the build-up of the maintenance budget for all equipment and facilities, reviewing data on breakdowns and material used to build up a detailed picture of potential costs. Carries out investigations into repetitive and expensive equipment failures, directing the collection of information and participating in specific equipment monitoring surveys.

Participates in the planning for and coordinates the execution of major plant shutdowns, unplanned mini-shutdowns and equipment overhauls.

Investigates requirements for plant improvements. Studies particular PCR proposals, discusses requirements, request the technical assistance development, equipment and planning engineers and provides comments on the advisability and feasibility of the proposed change. Reviews preliminary (conceptual) specifications suggested and provides input to ensure maintenance accessibility and efficiency is incorporated.

Skills:
Manage a diverse and multi-disciplinary staff at various levels, of different cultures and backgrounds that are engaged to maintain NF-A that require special technical, operational, safety, financial and man-management skills to meet business objectives. Should be well conversant with SAP system.

Experience:
A minimum of twelve years experience of which at least seven years experience in a trade supervisory position followed by a further 5 years in a multi-discipline position (Senior Maintenance Supervisor type position) with varied maintenance operations experience within a similar Offshore Gas or Oil environment. Familiar with maintenance work control, contracting, budgetary and cost control procedures. Experience in the use of computerised preventive maintenance programmes and good knowledge of English language are essential.

Required Qualifications:
B.Sc. in a relevant Engineering discipline ie: mechanical or instrument/ control with an aptitude for understanding cause & effects of Control systems and general knowledge of Process.
