The Systems Engineer is responsible for the evaluation, design, installation, test and monitoring of Unix based servers to ensure maximum efficiency and availability.
Additionally provide proper escalation support for problem solving, tracking and resolution for all server related hardware and software issues/problems. The Systems Engineer supports Unix systems such as AIX, Solaris and Linux on IBM, Sun and HP hardware.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
Bachelor Degree in Computer Science or related discipline
7+ years experience with Unix based servers, Solaris, AIX, Linux OS, server management, directory structures, virtualisation, racks and cable management
A working knowledge of remote control access products, backup software (IBM TSM) fail over and load balancing clusters, Storage Area Networking (SAN) is highly desirable
Certified in Solaris, AIX and/or Linux OS administration
Demonstrated ability to work independently and troubleshoot problems where speed, accuracy ad efficiency are required
Microsoft certified Engineer in Windows 2008 track
MS Exchange experience (specially in mail migration)
