Head of Materials Inspection

Primary Purpose Of The Job:
Ensures QP materials are ordered, manufactured, tested, certified and delivered to desired corporate quality standards. Manages and controls manufacturing Quality Audits on manufacturers in line with corporate and ISO19011 standards. Supervisor administration of TPI contract worth QR. 11 million for world wide services. Responsible for direction, supervision and overall administration of Inspection Section. Manages the development, implementation and control of Quality Managements System and the process of its continuous improvement in accordance with ISO 9002 Certification. Principal focus is on the overall control and management of materials inspection and requirements. Considers and ensures Qatari development in all aspects of management within his operational jurisdiction. Manages the development and maintenance of corporate quality awareness.

Coordinates, participates and directs from a quality and integrity aspect the review proposals, studies, concepts, designs and tender documents. Interfaces with other Division Heads and Department Managers to implement functional tasks. Manages the sectional subordinate personnel and coordinate planning of the activities. Identify and evaluate potential inspection agencies and make recommendations. Ensures service contracts are renewed/replaced in a timely manner. Monitors performance of the Inspection agency. Sets sectional objectives and prepares sectional reports for management. Prepares and coordinates audit on Manufacturers and suppliers. Interacts with other Departments and Standards Organizations. Control of Q.M.S within the materials department. Implement ISO 9000:2000 working procedures for materials Department. Participates in specialized discipline review of technical and quality documentation. Provides back-up support as required on technical and quality issues.

Education:
Degree in Engineering or Quality discipline.

Experience & Skills:
IRCA approved Lead Auditor with 5 years Auditing experience, specialized technical knowledge in areas of responsibility. Minimum 15 years experience in Oil & Gas industry with 8 years in a Supervisory position. Thorough knowledge of International Codes and Standards applicable to Oil & Gas industry. Good analytical skills related to technical problem solving. Leadership, conflict management and motivational skills. Experience in Quality Management system. Multi-disciplinary management experience. Managerial, business and presentation skills. Knowledge of major oil company and policies and procedures. Excellent written and spoken English.
