Facility Oil Spill Response Supervisor

  • To Plan, Organize, Direct, Lead, prioritize, and review the daily activities of the field staff comprised of senior oil spill responders, oil spill responders, technicians and contract personnel.
  • Provide technical expertise, interpretation and render advice to the facility on regulatory programs to prevent, respond to and manage oil spills, promote uniform application of policies within the facility, ensure facility staffs comply with oil spill prevention and response statutory and regulatory requirements.
  • Administer and direct field programs in support of oil spill prevention and response efforts addressing the implementation and execution of QP, the State and Industry Contingency Plans.
  • Leads the oil spill response, combat and recovery operations at his facility and assumes command and control of the spill.
  • To maintain, run, commission and deploy, on a regular basis, oil pollution control equipment to ensure that they are in good working condition. Conducts training exercises on the theoretical and practical application of oil pollution control equipment.

Education

  • Completion of a recognized apprenticeship in Marine Engineering or Mechanical Engineering, HND in Marine/Mechanical Engineering or Bachelors Degree in Environmental Sciences.

Experience

  • 8-10 years experience in pollution combating organisations, oil/gas industry (offshore/marine/environmental/oil spill response background.)
  • Has served in a leadership role for at least two years



Oil Spill Response Vessel Supervisor

  • To Plan, Organize, Direct, lead, prioritize, and review the daily activities of the oil spill response staff comprised of senior oil spill responders, oil spill responders, technicians and vessel personnel including the Captain, Engineer and deckhands attached to the vessel.
  • Conducts vessel patrols in the territorial and international waters (EPZ) of Qatar to ensure the waters are not been polluted, monitors dredging operations, SBM transfer operations and assists the marine department with other support operations.
  • Administer and direct field programs in support of oil spill prevention and response efforts addressing the implementation and execution of QP, the State and Industry Contingency Plans by conducting visits to all offshore installations throughout Qatar.
  • To maintain, run, commission and deploy, on a regular basis, oil pollution control equipment on the vessel to ensure that they are in good working condition. 
  • To lead the oil spill recovery and combat operations as the first responder offshore oil spill response.

Education

  • Completion of a recognized BSC/HND in Marine Nautical Science or , BSC/HND in Maritime studies or HND in Marine or Mechanical Engineering or  Bachelors Degree in Environmental Sciences.

Experience

  • 8-10 years experience in pollution combating organisations, oil/gas industry (offshore/marine/environmental/oil spill response background).
  • Has served on a vessel for at least five years.
  • Has served in a leadership role for at least two years
