Senior Project Development Engineers

One of the largest oil producers in the world, Qatar Petroleum is involved in a wide range of engineering projects as part of the ongoing developments related to Qatar Petroleum Oil and Gas facilities and general high-value projects in the State of Qatar.   They are now seeking experienced Senior Project Development Engineers to join their Petrochemical and Refining Projects.

Role
The successful candidates will, at departmental level, participate in and lead the development and implementation of mega downstream petrochemical and refining projects, from initiation to commissioning and start-up. Emphasis will be on project definition and execution subject to budget, schedule and quality through the various phases of feasibility, basic and detailed design, construction, commissioning and start-up, in respect of best project management practices. The positions embrace the whole project lifecycle, specializing in technical areas, although coordinating with other functional areas. As such, they support the dept’s leadership and accountability in developing these projects.

Requirements
Candidates for Petrochemical Ventures Department must have BSc Petroleum/Process/Chemical Engineering with strong awareness of Economics & Business Development. Candidates with a purely Mechanical Engineering background will not be considered. Twelve years minimum of varied industry experience in Gas Processing, Petrochemical or Refining as project engineer in process design, project economics and in development of venture companies. Broad exposure to hydrocarbon processing economics and their application to multi-project opportunities is required, together with the ability to integrate different data and analysis from various sources and technical disciplines into a coherent working synopsis. An advanced degree (eg, MSc, MBA) will be an advantage, Arabic is a plus.
