Senior Project Development Engineers

One of the largest oil producers in the world, Qatar Petroleum is involved in a wide range of engineering projects as part of the ongoing developments related to Qatar Petroleum Oil and Gas facilities and general high-value projects in the State of Qatar.   They are now seeking experienced Senior Project Development Engineers to join their Petrochemical and Refining Projects.

Role
The successful candidates will, at departmental level, participate in and lead the development and implementation of mega downstream petrochemical and refining projects, from initiation to commissioning and start-up.   Emphasis will be on project definition and execution subject to budget, schedule and quality through the various phases of feasibility, basic and detailed design, construction, commissioning and start-up, in respect of best project management practices.  The positions embrace the whole project lifecycle, specializing in technical areas, although coordinating with other functional areas. As such, they support the dept’s leadership and accountability in developing these projects.

Requirements
Candidates for Refining & Manufacturing Ventures Department must have a BSc Chem Eng with significant knowledge in refining technologies and strong awareness of economics, business development and contracts negotiations. Candidates with a purely Mechanical Engineering background will not be considered.   Ten years minimum of varied experience in Refining process operation & design, project engineering, economics and development.  Excellent oral/written communication skills required, Arabic is a plus.
