Teacher Secondary
Primary Purpose
Designs, develops, implements and evaluates school curriculum to meet the British National Curriculum appropriate for level assigned members. Instructs students in classes and organises day-to-day work accordingly. Also prepares instructional materials, structures lessons to respond to each student's needs or developments in the school, evaluates and assesses student's progress and periodically discusses student's performance with parents.
Principal Accountabilities
Teach students in an assigned curriculum subject area. Teach other areas when required for staff cover.
Assist supervisor to prepare, develop, implement and evaluate yearly curriculum and work programmes.
Update curriculum as appropriate to student comprehension. Develop progressive instructional techniques. Keep current on teaching techniques. Consider INSET (In Service Training) requirements
Prepare curriculum files and documents for reference of supervisors to record progress.
Assign homework, prepare presentations, prepare independent study guides for students on long leaves of absence, monitor attendance, prepare/mark exams, and supervise activities in common areas (eg gym or playground)
Under direction from Head of Key Stage/Section, meet parents to discuss student progress.
Recommend referral to, and liaise with, specialists (eg Special Educational Needs Department SEN)
Provide pastoral care to, and discipline of, students
Report regularly to Head of Department, Year Leader, Head of House, concerning relevant issues, eg pastoral, sporting and discipline issues.
Participate in assemblies, extra-curricular social and sporting activities.

Experience
Degree and/or post-graduate teaching qualification, or Teaching Diploma (equivalent to bachelor degree) from a recognised College or University
Qualified Teacher Status: Minimum of 1-2 years teaching experience

Head of Primary
Primary Purpose
Ensures the provision of an Internationally recognised standard of British-style Primary education for the residents of Mesaieed. Defines the quality of the Primary curriculum and manages accordingly. Directs the day to day operation of the Primary School, co-ordinates school activities and staff communications. Manages personnel, resources and finance; plans future material, manpower and budget requirements. Is responsible for staff performance and development; interviews and selects new staff in conjunction with the Headmaster and Recruitment department. Directs office administration, record keeping and correspondence with the Primary school. Manages the public image of the Primary school. Maintains and fosters good relations between the school and parents, the local community and other schools/official bodies. Keeps abreast of the latest developments in Educational philosophy. Teaches, as and when necessary. Routinely liaises with Corporation departments in Mesaieed and Doha: Materials, Finance, General Services, Transport, Medical, Security, Fire & Safety, Recruitment, Training, Information & Computing Services, Organisation & Systems, Public Relations etc. Attends corporate meetings as required by Headmaster.
Principal Accountabilities
Under supervision of the Headmaster, supervise and ensure efficient running of the daily operation of the academic, pastoral areas of the school
Serve on the School Executive (policy) and Senior Management Team (day to day management)
Monitor delivery of curriculum within the school. Ensure objectives and standards are met through classroom observations and liaison with Heads of Key Stage Section.
Organise/chair departmental meetings.
Handle the more difficult and unresolved pastoral and academic matters passed up from Heads of Key Stage/Section.
Supervise and appraise staff.
Review Budgetary requests from Heads of Key Stage and make recommendations to Headmaster.
Manage and monitor curriculum development and review/approve curriculum with teachers to verify adherence to standards and objectives.
Foster and maintain good relations with parents and community by attendance at Parent Evenings and Community Events.
Ensure provision of pastoral care and discipline to students through Heads of Key Stage/Section.
Take the whole school assemblies.
Plan the school year/calendar and events.
Experience
