Education:
• B. Sc. Degree in Chemical Engineering with Specialization in oil and gas fields is desirable.
Experience & Skills:
• 12 - 15 years experience in design, consultancy or technical services in oil and gas industry.
• This includes extensive exposure to simulation, calculations, process analysis, operational strategies, HSE regulations, international design codes/standards.
• 5+ years of project execution (Oil and Gas related complete project life cycle) with suitable background in unit commissioning, operations and operation monitoring experience.
• Computer know-how having extensive process/pipeline simulations exposure and Unit Operations/monitoring
• Highly qualified and experienced professional strong in simulations, calculations, analytical skills.
Senior Specialist Engineer (Process)
Primary Purpose of the Job:
Supports all the Onshore, Off shore QP wide global operations/production w.r.t
facilities, plants, refineries, pipelines/conveyance, generation and
storagelloading in technologies and best practices through proposals for
modifications, projects and upgrades; deemed necessary for improvement in
production, safety and environmental aspects. Also renders services to projects,
Discipline Specialists and others in their activities as and when demanded
Principle Accountabilities
1. Acquires working HC resource profiles over 10-20years prepared for/from asset planning and
assesses the existing production/processing facilities, pipeline networks and others for
adequacy in light of ever changing process conditions particularly the flow rates and
compositions.
2. Develops simulation modules for related production, processing , conveyance covering all
possible cases and scenario for reference and validate them against the field datalor lab
analytical records.
3. Prepares SOW inline with prevailing corporate procedures for in-house/consultancy studies
listing clear work elements of study CTRs and incorporates input/comments from all the
relevant QP- vide Deparbnents and secures approval of document for subsequent action.
4. Supports the Sponsoring Deparbnent in preparation of project PINs and SORs and assists
Engineering Deparbnents in their project implementation phases.
5. Maintains the study plans through close and continuous follow up with all areas contributing
in completion of work including Feasibility/Concept Optimization steps and ensures that all
subsequent events including facility shutdownltie-in plans and production/supply targets are
strictly met.
6. Ensures a team-like contribution from all related departments to capture and recommend the
best possible options from technology, practicality, operability, flexibility and HSE aspects
and is fully supported on sound viability grounds.
7. Supports in Development of in-house/consultancy study deliverables including basis of
design, options screening study, utility studies, identification of initial HSE issues, option
wise economic review, presentation to higher management, selection of viable option.
Subsequently arranges option(s) optimization, project economical model, development of
project implementation supportive SOW for FEED, execution strategy/schedule documents.
Manages consensus from all concerned and secures approval of all deliverables for handing
over of package for next phase.
8. Provides database! technical assistance to other senior specialist Engineers and Discipline
Engineers in preparation of SOWs, studies, consultancies and deliverables in line with the
corporate strategies and business plans. He also supports senior Specialist engineers as
replacement as and when required.
9. Ensures the scope of work of studies covers the corporate objectives and supports Engineers
and Senior Specialist/other Sections with the necessary simulation modelling, calculations
and assessment works to ensure timely and sound basis for the projects.
10. Performs site Visits to the production locations necessary for preparation of SOW, supervise
studies, source field data, and discuss technical issues related to Feasibility studies, Concept
Optimization, fina1i7.ationof documents and support operations in resolution of their specific
problems.
11. Supports work related activities within the deparbnent and others in a manner to avoid any
conflict on deliverables and recommendations made on studies, pipelinesltransportation,
upgrade, downgrade, modifications and replacement of systems.
12. He prepares and attends meetings necessary for work progress and reports to seniors as and
when required.
13. Supports section in preparation of annual budgets, business plan contributions, departmental
procedures, review of IP procedures and implementation of quality mandatelISO related
commitments.
