Electrical Materials Expeditor

Job Summary
Responsible for coordinating the procurement process of all electrical items.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Review all electrical drawings and specifications
  • Undertake electrical materials take-offs .
  • Checks material requisitions and orders against specification.
  • Maintains status record of all electrical material orders and deliveries.
  • Liaison with electrical and procurement departments.

Education
Minimum of B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution of higher education.

Professional Experience (essential)
A minimum of 10 years progressive post-graduate experience in a design office/ site experience.
A minimum of 5 years experience in a senior procurement position.

Specialised Knowledge (desirable)

Knowledge of the American National Electrical Code is desirable.

Job Summary
Responsible for the design, supervision and production of project drawings and specifications for hospital Electrical Services.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Design of hospital electrical services
  • Oversees production of project drawings and specifications.
  • Checks documents and drawings produced by the design engineers.
  • Coordination of electrical services within the building and with all other services.
  • Liaison with all other structural and services Engineers.

Education / Licensure
Minimum of B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution of higher education.

Professional Experience (essential)
A minimum of 10 years progressive post-graduate experience in a design office, with site experience.
Ability to prepare drawings from initial concept to the finished article. Knowledge of Microstation/Autocad design software.

Specialised Knowledge (desirable)

Experience in design of Hospital electrical systems.

Job Summary
Responsible for supervision of shop and site Engineers and Foremen for all aspects of installation of Electrical systems on a variety of building projects, including a hospital, accommodation blocks, conference centre and school.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Review all electrical drawings and specifications and control installation programmes.
  • Liaison with the Resident M & E Engineer for all drawing requirements.
  • Preparing all material requisitions for procurement.
  • Liaison with Q.C. Engineers to ensure that the works comply with drawings and specifications..
  • Maintain records of site progress against programme and manpower estimates to ensure construction targets are met.
  • Preparation of O & M manuals prior to hand-over of buildings.
  • Attending to the interface between the main contractor and his subcontractors for final commissioning of electrical systems.

Education / Licensure
Minimum of City & Guilds qualification, HNC or equivalent from an accredited institution of higher education, or a formal apprenticeship.
B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering is preferred.
